27,000 candidates to sit for UTME in Jigawa, says JAMB Coordinator.

Dutse – Malam Labaran Daneji, the Jigawa Coordinator of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Tuesday, said 27,000 registered candidates would sit for the 2014/2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the state. Daneji disclosed this while conducting Prof. Haruna Wakili, the Jigawa Commissioner for Education, round the centres where the examination would take place in Dutse. He said that the examination, which would be computer-based, would be written in 10 days and in six centres across the state. In his remarks, Prof. Wakili, who commended JAMB for the arrangement, pointed out that it would minimise examination malpractice. The commissioner said that the state government had bought and distributed 2,949 JAMB scratch cards worth N16.5 million to final year students in senior secondary schools based on their performance. He added that the administration of Gov. Sule Lamido was committed to providing quality and affordable education to citizens of the state.
