JIGAWA TRAINS 10,000 YOUTHS IN 6 YEARS

The Jigawa State government has trained 10,000 youths on various skills in the past six years.


This was disclosed to newsmen yesterday by the Commissioner for Economic Empowerment Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammed Mago at the flag-off of training of 1000 youths under the National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP).
He said the training by the state government has multiplier effect as revealed by an impact assessment carried out.
The commissioner said the state government has finalized plans to construct 24 new skills acquisition centres across the state in addition to the already existing six skills acquisition centres.
In his address, the Director-General of Industrial Training Fund(ITF) Professor Longmas Sambo Wampuk said he was in Jigawa to flag-off the third phase of the programme. 

He added that a total 13,000 youths will be trained in technical and vocational skills as well as entrepreneurship for three months.
